About Street Beet

plant-based comfort food

Located at 1800 Michigan Ave, Detroit, MI 48216, Street Beet operates as a vegetarian serving Detroit in Michigan. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as coffee shop, ice cream shop, pastry shop, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 4–10 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday, Tuesday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (313) 462-4965. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, streetbeet.online.

Detroit is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Getting around Detroit is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Michigan's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Updating this because I was so disappointed. I ordered the country fried chicken which came with mashed potatoes and green beans. The “chicken” and potatoes were good, but I am 99% sure I was served canned green beans (see photos). This is shameful, and is not restaurant standard, especially not for $24… Please get it together Street Beet. You’re one of the few vegan restaurants in the area 😔 Old review: I love Street Beet. I used to go to the Third Street bar location and I’m happy to have this vegan option with many gluten free items (including buns) close by. But I find the food to be hit or miss. Love the smash burgers, fries, and mozzarella sticks are out of this world. Other things have had issues. The crab cakes in the Benedict were so tiny I felt ripped off for what I paid. The breakfast scramble was a good portion, but way too salty. And I got a slice of cheesecake once that I’m sure was out of the box and did not feel worth the price either. My biggest issue is the pricing. It is too expensive for diner style/fast food made from Beyond/Impossible and other faux meat products. I will continue to come to Street Beet for the staples, but I wish there was more consistency wi

Trying new vegan spots is my all time favorite hobby. This place wasn’t here last time I was in town so I was thrilled when I saw an all vegan restaurant pop up in Corktown! I tried many items, but the nachos were hands down my favorite! Their ranch was also a hitter! The Mac and cheese was unfortunately a miss, which is a bummer. I knew it wasn’t a fan favorite but had to try it anyway. Fingers crossed it gets an upgrade! The branding, build out, merch, and staff were all wonderful. So looking forward to coming back next time I’m in town!

We stopped by Street Beet on a Saturday for the first time-ordered from the brunch menu and wow everything was so good. We had the cinnamon roll-so tasty and not sicky-sweet which was perfect! We also had the buttermilk biscuit with honey butter-delicious as well. You can really tell that these guys make these in-house. So good! I ordered the crunchy-wrap and my partner ordered the maple griddler, they were both takes on popular restaurant chain items everyone can recognize, but expertly veganized! The place itself is very laid back but with a great vibe and subtle, clever design and decor. There is an arcade in the back which is a really nice touch if you want to make an evening of it and really hang out for food and cocktails. To be honest, there are so many items on both the brunch and dinner menu that looked great-we couldn’t decide so we’re gonna be going back to work our way through everything. They also do regular special menu “take overs”, veganizing popular chain restaurant menus (“Chilly’s”, “Taco Hell”, “Olive Guardin”) so there is always something new to check out but honestly the menu is so well rounded and complete you can go anytime and have an awesome meal. Thank you to the great staff at this location. We drove four hours from Ohio to eat here. Vintage decor is my absolutely favorite and they did a great job with the items and the arcade area brought back so many memories. Thank you JESSICA for being a knowledgeable friendly and helpful server. The food was very delicious. The pancakes were large and fluffy eggs bacon sausage shrimp and grits and the absolutely delicious cookie butter milkshakes…. Left us wanting more. We wanted to return for the dinner menu before driving back home, but the items we wanted were not available because there was a special Olive Garden twist type of menu during our visit. Great job on the decor, menu and hiring good staff.

If you’re looking for one of the best vegan comfort food spots in Detroit, Street Beet is a must-try. This place truly delivers when it comes to plant-based street food that’s bold, satisfying, and full of flavor. We ordered the Nacho Platter, which was loaded and perfect for sharing, followed by the Hot Fries crispy, well-seasoned, and seriously addictive. The Smashburger was a standout: juicy, flavorful, and easily one of the best vegan burgers I’ve had in Detroit. The Supreme Crunchwrap was another favorite, perfectly crispy on the outside and packed on the inside. To end on a sweet note, we had the Chocolate Malt Milkshake, and it was rich, creamy, and the perfect dessert to finish the meal. Beyond the food, the vibe at Street Beet is fun, casual, and welcoming. They even have a comfort station area with arcade-style game machines, which I loved such a cool touch and makes the experience even more enjoyable. Whether you’re vegan or just love great comfort food, this spot is definitely worth visiting when you’re in Detroit. Highly recommend!
